Corona Virus Update
I am pleased to advise you that we now have authority to use the green for non competitive bowling with effect from Tuesday 23rd June 2020. This is subject to strict rules as listed below.
This facility is open to club members who held a Council Bowling permit last season (2019). All members have been informed of the process for booking a session.
Rules for bowling at Egerton Park Bowling Club after re-opening following the Covid-19 lock down
It is imperative that these rules are adhered to and failure to keep these rules could result in the person being barred from this club and could even bring with it a police prosecution and closure of the club.
These rules are for the safety of everybody and to protect the club from fines or being closed through non-compliance with government guidelines. A copy is available on the gate leading to the green.
Only members who held a Council Bowling Permit in season 2019 are eligible to use this facility.
When somebody books a bowling slot in a session, they must contact the Club Representative and they must accept all the rules of play and risk assessment (previously sent to all members) and must adhere to the rules or face being barred from further sessions. The Club Representative will keep a permanent record of all bookings for inspection by Neighbourhood Services or any relevant authority upon request.
The sessions will be available between 12:00 noon and 6:00pm Tuesday to Friday and can be booked for up to 1 Hour 40 mins. The bowlers must not attend the green until their allocated time slot and only after the last bowlers from the previous session have left the green. Bowlers must leave the green within 10 mins of the end of their slot.
A maximum of 6 people allowed in or at the green at any one time. No spectators.
Groups should be limited to a maximum of 3 groups of 2, or a family group of 3 and one other group of 2, or a family group of 3 plus one from outside the family group and one other group of 2.
No measuring by 2 people in different households.
Groups should maintain social distancing and keep 4 metres between groups to allow for social distancing between groups.
Blocks and mats should be kept 4 metres apart and, if the jack finishes closer than this, the bowler sending the second jack must retrieve it.
Any jacks sent off the green must be retrieved by the bowler sending it
The clubhouse will be locked at all times, meaning no toilet or refreshment facilities will be available and the club’s bowling equipment/ accessories cannot be used.
Only use your own equipment (jacks, bowls, and mats and sanitiser etc).
Sterilise your equipment before and after use.
Sterilise the gate lock and handles on entering and leaving the green.
